We install and maintain Fire Extinguishers to British Standard 5306-3:2009. Extinguishers are required to be serviced annually and replaced/recharged every 5-10 years (dependent on extinguisher type).
We can provide a service tailored to your needs, and any servicing can be carried out in conjunction with maintenance of other equipment on the premises.
Class A: ordinary combustible fire risks such as as wood, paper, material and cloth.
Class B: Fire risks from flammable liquids such as fuel (e.g. petrol/diesel), ethanol or kerosene.
Class C: Fire risks from flammable gas such as acetone, ammonia, propane or nitromethane.
Class D: Fires involving metals such as magnesium, lithium or powdered aluminium etc
Electrical Hazards: Fires involving Electrical equipment.
Class F: Fires involving cooking oil & fat etc.
Types of Extinguisher
There are many different types of fire extinguisher available that perform different roles in the event of a fire.
Water Fire Extinguishers: Used for class A fire risks
Foam Fire Extinguishers: Used for class A and class B fire risks
Co2 Fire Extinguishers: Used for Class B fire risks and also Electrical hazards
Powder Fire Extinguishers: Used for Class A fires, Class B, Class C and also electrical hazards.
Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers: Used specifically for Class F - deep fat cooking fires.
Fire Blankets: Commonly used for kitchen fire risks (e.g. chip pans) but can also be used for waste bins .
